Dear Parents/Carers,
As we approach the start of the GCSE examination period, I write to provide you with essential information relating to revision and exam timetables, attendance and academy expectations.
The written exams begin on Monday 15th May, and the full timetable can be found here, or on our KS4 revision site which can be accessed via the academy website. Your child will receive their printed personalised exam timetable within the next week, and they will also be able to log onto their Bromcom account to see their exam times along with their seating plan.
During the exam period, the Year 11 school timetable has been adapted to provide targeted, subject specialist teacher-led revision sessions before each published exam. Normal lessons will run alongside these sessions to provide all students with consistent high quality exam preparation and revision throughout the examination period. Therefore, please note that ALL students are required to attend school daily until the final day of Year 11 which is scheduled for Friday 9th June. Arrangements for this day, and the remaining exam days after this date, will be sent home nearer the time.
Can I take this opportunity to ask for your ongoing support regarding your child’s engagement with a consistent, well-balanced revision programme at home. It is essential that the remaining time both up to, and during the exam period is used effectively: with a good balance between purposeful revision as well as wellbeing activities and rest.
Please refer to the revision site on our website for further guidance and information on how to support your child.
Students should wear full school uniform during the examination period (not PE kit), and the LAB behaviour and attitude expectations continue to apply to all students at all times.
Yours sincerely,
Mr J. Ritchie
Vice Principal
