Dear Parents/Carers,
I am delighted to offer your child the opportunity to travel to Alp 2500 (Spain) for the Leigh Academy Blackheath Ski/Snowboard Trip. The trip will take place during the February half term of the 2023-2024 academic year (from Saturday 10th February – Saturday 17th February 2024).
Alp 2500 (link here) is the largest skiable area in the snow-sure Catalan region of the Spanish Pyrenees. The twin resorts of Masella and La Molina combine to form a resort where suitable challenge is available for all experience levels.
The opportunity will also allow your child to immerse themselves in an environment where they can use their Spanish in practical situations. Located in a region of the Catalan Pyrenees, where both Spanish and Catalan are spoken, it is a wonderful chance for our students to expand their knowledge and curiosity about the culture and interesting history of the Catalonia region.
Costings
The cost of the trip is £1190. This includes coach travel (17-19 hours), full-board accommodation (breakfast, hot lunch & dinner), ski/snowboard tuition, equipment hire (this does not include ski clothing), lift pass, ski hoodie, and fully comprehensive insurance.
The final payment date is Thursday 30th November 2023. An initial deposit of £190 will be required by Friday 31st March 2023 once your child’s place is confirmed. The remaining balance will be split into five £200 instalments that will be spread equally between the remaining time frame.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Your child’s behaviour/conduct may be taken into consideration when places are assigned if their choices are not wholly positive.
This letter is to gauge interest – your child’s place is not secure until you receive a confirmation message (email/text) and a place assigned to you on ParentPay.
Year 11 Parents/Carers
Your child will only be able to attend this trip should they be continuing their studies at LAB16.
