Year 7 Parents/Carers Consultation Evening – Thursday 9th March 2023

Dear Parents/Carers,

We would like to invite you to attend our Parents and Carers Consultation Evening, to take place onsite at LAB on Thursday 9th March, from 16:00-19:00. This is an important evening and provides you with an opportunity to speak with your child’s teachers about both their academic progress and their attitude to learning across the curriculum.

Please be mindful that there is no parking available on site and all those attending are encouraged to travel by public transport. If you choose to drive and park nearby, please respect our neighbours by parking safely on adjacent roads.

The academy has invested in an easy to use online appointment booking system (details of which you will find below) for parents and carers. This will allow you to select appointment times with your child’s teachers. You will then receive an email confirming said appointments. However, as stated, the evening itself will be held on the academy site, to give you a chance to meet with your child’s teachers and discuss their progress in person.

Appointments can be made from 09:00am on Monday 27th February and will close at 16:00 on Monday 6th March. Please do not attempt to book appointments earlier than the advertised date as the system will not save them.

Please visit this link to book your appointments. A short guide on how to add appointments is included with this letter. You will need to login with the following information:

  • Your name;
  • Your email address;
  • Your child’s first name and surname;
  • Your child’s Date of Birth.

Please note that, although we would wish for all parents and carers to have the opportunity to consult with every single one of their children’s teachers, we also recognise that certain members of staff see a large number of year 7 students, and that it is not always possible, therefore, for them to meet with everybody.

If you do wish to speak to a particular teacher who is not available, therefore, please do email them so that this can be arranged for another time.

If you are having problems logging into SchoolCloud, please do contact info@leighacademyblackheath.org.uk and a member of our team will support you in this regard.

Finally, as we expect a high number of parents and carers to attend, please respect the 5 minute appointment slots and move swiftly between meetings so that everyone has the opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers.

Yours faithfully,

Ms R Garcia
Assistant Principal
