Dear Parents/Carers,
On Friday 21st October, as part of our Black History Month celebrations, we will be holding a non-uniform day where students are invited to wear cultural attire.
If students wish to, they may choose instead to wear red to support Show Racism the Red Card’s annual anti-racism celebration.
We ask students to donate £1 if they attend in non-school uniform. This will be donated to Show Racism the Red Card, the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity, and can be paid via Parent Pay. Alternatively, students can bring £1 to school and their tutor will collect said donation from them during tutor time.
Please note that clothing and footwear worn by students on non-uniform days must remain appropriate for school.
We have included guidance in this regard below:
- Shorts or skirts must be knee-length;
- Crop tops, sleeveless tops and low cut t-shirts are not permitted;
- Slip on, open-toed shoes such as sliders or flip-flops are not allowed (for safety reasons).
Thank you for your continuous support.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs E Smith
Principal
