Dear Parents/Carers,
It has been wonderful to welcome our new Airy Year 7’s to LAB this week. Students have made a great start with so many of them already demonstrating the LAB values of Respect, Integrity, Ambition, Scholarship and Resilience.
On Wednesday 14th of September, we will be holding our ‘Meet the Tutor’ evening for parents and carers from 17:00pm-18:00pm.
During the meeting, your child’s college team and tutor will be providing information on the the following:
- An introduction to Airy College
- FAQ regarding Academy life
- Lunch arrangements
- Extracurricular clubs and societies
- Review of the ‘Home/Academy Contract’
- Distribution of student chromebooks – including loan agreement and log in details
It is essential that you complete the following NOS course ‘Online Safety for Parents of Children 11-14.’ prior to the meeting. Chromebooks will only be issued to parents/ carers who have completed the course prior to collection.

The chromebooks are strong and robust but are not completely immune from breaking, especially whilst travelling in a student’s bag. We advise purchasing a protective sleeve to store the device whilst in transit. An example of a suitable cover can be found here.
We are unable to support personal devices on site and can only permit students to use the Chromebooks issued by the academy.

Please be reminded that there is no parking available on site and all those attending are encouraged to travel by public transport.
