For 2022/23 admissions, all Year 6 primary students who name Leigh Academy Blackheath in their list of preferences are required to sit a fair banding test. This is to ensure that children across the full ability range are admitted. It is not possible to pass or fail the test, but those not sitting the test at all, will only be prioritised after those children who have sat the test.
The applicants will be split into 5 equally sized bands based on their assessment results. Within each band our admission criteria will be applied as set out in our determined admission arrangements.
Parents and Carers should register their child for the test by returning a completed supplementary form – the deadline for this form is 31st October 2021 and has now passed.
Fair Banding Tests will be held at one of the Leigh Academies Trust Schools in the South East London Cluster. Parents and Carers will be notified of the venue and time of their child’s test via post, email or phone.
The test is a non verbal reasoning paper and free resources can be downloaded via this website – https://11plus.gl-assessment.co.uk/free-materials
