Year 8 Charity Project: First Give Programme

LAB Letter Image

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are excited to share that our Year 8 students are participating in the First Give Programme, a fantastic social action initiative as part of their LAB Learner lessons. Each class has been researching a local charity planning meaningful projects to support their chosen cause.

As part of this social action, on Monday 30th June, our students will take part in “Walk a Mile for Greenwich!”, a sponsored walk to raise funds for their selected charities. All money raised will go directly to supporting their causes, and donations can be made via ParentPay. Your support in helping our students make a difference in the community is greatly appreciated!

On the day of the walk, your child should:
– Wear their PE Kit
– Wear their charity colours over the top (hats, badges, banners, t-shirts, etc.) the more creative, the better!

Each class is supporting a different charity and is encouraged to represent their cause by wearing the following colours:

Airy:
● 8C: Home Start Greenwich (orange and purple)
● 8F: Woolwich Service Users Project (blue and white)

Fawcett:
● 8A: Greenwich Homeless Project ( orange and white)
● 8D: Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice (pink and purple)

Sancho:
● 8B & 8E: The Felix Project (green)

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing our students come together to make an impact!
