Re: Year 12 ‘Meet the Tutor’ Event
It is our pleasure to invite you into Leigh Academy Blackheath on Wednesday 18th September. On this date, we will be holding our ‘Meet the Tutor’ evening for our new year 12 parents/carers and their child from 5 pm to 6 pm. This evening will be an opportunity to meet the LAB16 leadership team and your child’s tutor.
The event will start with an initial presentation at 5 pm where will provide information on the the following:
- Introductions to the LAB16 team
- An overview of the IB career-related programme (CP) and diploma programme (DP)
- Essential information about LAB16 systems, procedures and expectations
- How best to support your child through the rigours of post-16 study
- Initial information about UCAS and applying to university
Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for you to speak with your child’s tutor.
In addition, we also require parents to complete the following online course ‘Annual Award in Online Safety for Parents of Children 14-18’ which provides important guidance on helping your child stay safe online.
