Re: LAB16 Open Evening 2025
This is a reminder that on Thursday 14th November we will be hosting our post-16 open evening for prospective year 12 students. The evening will start at 5.00pm and end at 7.00pm and there will be presentations in the Lecture Theatre at 5.10pm and 6.00pm.
At LAB16 we offer two IB programmes, both respected by top universities and employers in the UK and across the world:
- The Career-related Programme (CP);
- The Diploma Programme (DP).
The Career-related Programme allows students to maintain both vocational and academic courses, such that they are well-placed to apply for university or a degree apprenticeship at the end of year 13. The Diploma Programme is an academically rigorous programme typically offered by selective and fee-paying schools and designed to provide a better preparation for students striving for high-tariff universities. Thanks to their design and reputation, both programmes provide students with a competitive advantage when applying to university over other level 3 qualifications.
As one of the few non-selective schools in the UK which offers both the IBDP and IBCP, we receive considerable interest from year 11 students at local schools, but our preference is always for our LAB students to fill as many of our spaces as possible.
Join us on 14th November to meet our current students, teachers and to find out more about the IB programmes on offer. Please note: students must be accompanied by an adult during the evening.
Please note: LAB16 Applications will go live on Monday 10th November. Internals will be sent log-in details that will allow them to complete their online application using a system and should not create an account themselves. The application process will be explained in an assembly to students on Monday.
