Leigh Academy Blackheath Admissions Policy and Procedure 2021/22.

Fair Banding Test

For 2021/22 admissions, all Year 6 primary students who name Leigh Academy Blackheath in their list of preferences are required to sit a fair banding test. This is to ensure that children across the full ability range are admitted. It is not possible to pass or fail the test, but those not sitting the test at all, will only be prioritised after those children who have sat the test.

The applicants will be split into 5 equally sized bands based on their assessment results. Within each band our admission criteria will be applied as set out in our determined admission arrangements.

Parents and Carers should register their child for the test on October 3rd 2020 by returning a completed supplementary form, to be received by the Academy by 17th September 2020 to admissions@leighacademyblackheath.org.uk or via the online portal. Those that apply after this date but before the deadline of 31st October will be placed on the November test dates.
