Dear Parents/Carers, Year 7 Meet the Tutor Event – Wednesday 10th September 2025
It is our pleasure to invite you into Leigh Academy Blackheath on Wednesday 10th September for our Year 7 Meet the Tutor evening. The event, which will take place between 4pm and 5pm, gives parents and carers an insight into the high expectations of the behaviours and attitudes we set for our students at LAB. The evening will also be an opportunity to meet your child’s college leadership team and tutor.
Please note that this event is not for Year 7 students and we do not have the space to accommodate them during the event. During the evening, we will be providing information on the following:
● An introduction to your College;
● FAQ regarding Academy life;
● Extracurricular clubs and societies
● The upcoming residential trip;
● Home-School Agreement;
● An online safety talk
● Distribution of student chromebooks;
Important: action required before the evening It is essential that you complete the following prior to the meeting:
1. You must read our Home School agreement and complete the attached Google form prior to Wednesday evening.
Looking after your child’s Chromebook The Chromebooks are strong and robust but are not completely immune from breaking, especially whilst travelling in a student’s bag. We advise purchasing a protective sleeve to store the device whilst in transit. We are unable to support personal devices on site and can only permit students to use the Chromebooks issued by the academy.
If you have any questions or you are unable to attend the ‘Meet the tutor event’ please do not hesitate to contact your child’s College. Please be reminded that there is no parking available on site and all those attending are encouraged to travel by public transport. We look forward to seeing you next week.
