End of Term

Dear Parents/Carers,

The last day of the 2021-2022 academic year is finally here – hurrah! It has been a particularly challenging week for our learning community with exceptionally high temperatures on Monday and Tuesday, and adapted Sports Day plans as a result on Wednesday. As always, the combined student and staff team showed great resilience and determination with the academy running as normal (almost).

There are a few bits of information to share as we break up for the end of term; please see below:

Times of the academy day have changed for September 2022. Please see the letter sent out earlier this week and remember lessons will start promptly at 8.30am. This means all students will need to be onsite by 8.20am daily to avoid receiving a late mark. The gate will open as usual at 8.00am.

Academic reports for all students have been published today on MCAS.

The LAB News Summer edition is published today. It is a real celebration of life at LAB, and provides you all with an insight into the experiences and opportunities available to all learners at the academy. It also includes information about our new staff and guidance for keeping safe over the summer break.

Thank you to all those who completed the Parent/ Carer survey sent out last week. It is great to receive feedback on all aspects of our work. I will provide an overview of the outcomes at the start of next year and share our plans for making further improvements to how we work then.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support.

Have a peaceful Summer break.

Best Wishes,

Mrs E Smith
Principal
