Parent Update

Two students talking to a member of staff in a reception area

Dear Parents/Carers,

Just a quick update on a few things as we approach the end of this academic year.

Water Bottles and Uniform

The weather continues to be quite mixed, however, we are currently experiencing some extremely warm temperatures. Students are still required to wear full uniform (with the exception of jumpers for this final module), and bring their blazers to school daily. However, if the temperatures are high, students will be permitted to take off their blazers and adjust their uniform accordingly, as instructed by their teachers. A gentle reminder that ALL students are required to bring a refillable water bottle to school. Please ensure your child has this with them daily.

End of Term Events

We have a number of events taking place over the next few weeks, including our first drama production of Matilda. It’s not too late to get tickets for this event so please do come along. Tickets can be purchased via the following link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/matilda-tickets-337110595867

Information from the Local Community at Blackheath Standard

The British Oak Pub has asked us to speak to students about using their beer garden to wait for friends in the morning or at the end of the academy day. We communicate this regularly through assemblies and tutor time, but ask that you could remind students at home as well. We have also been informed that Marks and Spencer will be restricting the number of students allowed in their store at any one time. At the start and end of the day it is not unusual for our students, and those from several other schools, to pop into the store which can be quite overwhelming for their staff.

Have a lovely, sunny weekend!

Best Wishes,

E Smith
