Dear Parents/Carers,

As I am sure you are aware, your child is in the school production of Matilda JR. Rehearsals have been going very well and I am pleased to say that we are now only a few vital weeks away from the performance. Tickets for the production are now on sale and are £5 per adult and £2 for children 16 and under.

Please see amended dates and times of remaining rehearsals and further details of timings for the shows below.

Show Week

Show week will take place the week beginning 11th July 2022 with evening performances on Wednesday 13th July, Thursday 14th July and Friday 15th July.

The show will start at 5:30pm and end at 7pm (with a short interval in between acts).

Students will be on site until the evening, so they will need to bring plenty of food and a water bottle with them on those days.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals in Module 6 will now be 3pm till 5pm so we are able to run the whole show.

The rehearsal dates up to Show Week are as follows:

  • Tuesday 14th June
  • Thursday 16th June
  • Thursday 23rd June
  • Monday 27th June
  • Tuesday 28th June

  • Monday 4th July
  • Tuesday 5th July
  • Thursday 7th July
  • Friday 8th July
  • Monday 11th July (Tech run)
  • Tuesday 12th July (Dress run)

Students are now required for every rehearsal and the rehearsal schedule will be on Google Classroom to remind students (scmxt7x)

Costumes

Costumes have been provided by LAB but can students please provide their own black trousers/leggings, shoes and socks. In addition to this, please bring either a fancy dress costume (if your child plays a child in the Miracle) or an outfit consisting of a; top/blouse/shirt/jumper, trousers/skirt, a dress and nice shoes (if your child plays an adult in the Miracle).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support so far with the production.

I realise it is a huge commitment from both students and parents and am aware of the effort and organisation from parents that goes into ensuring students attend rehearsals.

We look forward to sharing the performance with you.

Yours faithfully,

Miss C Coupé | Head of Performing Arts
