Year 8 Parents/Carers Consultation Evening – 10th March – Onsite

A class of children performing science experiments

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are very much looking forward to seeing you on Thursday (between 16:00-19:00), at our Year 8 Parents and Carers Consultation Evening. As you will be aware, due to COVID restrictions, this is the first Consultation Evening we have been able to hold onsite since your child joined LAB, and the first ever in our permanent building.

We intend to make the most of the evening. In response to our recent Parents’ and Carers’ survey, therefore, as well as having the chance to meet your child’s teachers, you will also have the opportunity to engage with an IBMYP information station (where any questions you might have about the framework that governs our KS3 curriculum will be answered), alongside the chance to visit our academy restaurant, where there will be a few samples of some of our most popular dishes. Additionally, you may also wish to purchase from, or indeed donate to, our student-run uniform shop, where second-hand clothing will be available to purchase (via ParentPay) at a reduced price.

Please be mindful that there is no parking available on site and all those attending are encouraged to travel by public transport. If you choose to drive and park nearby, please respect our neighbours by parking safely on adjacent roads.

If you have not yet had the opportunity to book appointment times with your child’s teachers via our online system, please do contact your child’s tutor in the first instance, so that they may arrange feedback at a later date and time.

As we expect a high number of parents and carers to attend, please respect the 5 minute appointment slots and move swiftly between meetings so that everyone has the opportunity to meet with their child’s teachers.

If you have any questions about Thursday evening, please do contact and a member of our team will support you in this regard.

Yours faithfully,

Mr D. Morrison

Vice Principal – Curriculum
