Dear Parents and Carers,
I shall very shortly be going on maternity leave and write today to inform you of our plans for the leadership of Fawcett College during this time. From Monday 6th December Mr Morrison will be stepping in as Head of Fawcett College and will remain in post until my return from maternity leave. Mr Morrison will be Head of Fawcett College during this time and will be handing over the role of leading Sancho College to the very capable hands of Mr Ritchie, our newly appointed Acting Vice Principal.
For those of you who have worked with Mr Morrison in the past you will know that this will mean a great deal of consistency during this period. As a founding member of our Senior Leadership Team who knows many Fawcett students well, I feel confident that the College will be in excellent hands until my return. The Fawcett College Leadership team will otherwise remain the same: with Mr Cowie as Assistant Principal, Ms Crowley as our SSM and Mr Tebbutt, Mr Ainsworth, Ms Parker and Ms Fairs as our Directors of Learning. Your child’s tutor will not change. All pastoral matters have been handed over to Mr Morrison in advance of my departure and he will be supported in this regard by tutors, our Middle Leaders as well as Mr Cowie and Ms Crowley too.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Fawcett students as well as parents and carers for your support, particularly during the challenging times we have all faced recently. Working with the Fawcett College team and with Fawcett students is always a highlight of my day and I look forward to returning to the College following maternity leave. I have asked Mr Morrison to close this letter and introduce him to parents and carers.
I am pleased to introduce myself as the new acting Head of Fawcett College. I know many of the students well already, but am excited to have the opportunity to work more closely with all the students within the college to support them in Ms Nuttall’s absence. In the weeks ahead, I will be working with the college team to ensure we are building on the strong pastoral provision already delivered by the Fawcett team, and further embedding the academy’s values as a consequence.
Ms E Nuttall and Mr D Morrison
