Year 7 – Transition report

Dear Parents/ Carers,

It has been an extremely productive start to the academic year. We would like to thank you and your child for supporting us to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time. We hope that they have enjoyed their first term at LAB, in our brand new building.

Each academic year, we end the first module at LAB by sending out a transition report to the parents and carers of our year 7 students.

This is not an attainment report. Rather, it provides an indication of how well your child has displayed the characteristics of our values, through their behaviours and attitudes to learning across all subjects.

Lots of schools have values, but very few are guided by them as we are. Our academy’s values – of Respect, Integrity, Resilience, Scholarship and Ambition – lie at the heart of everything we do. They underpin our decision-making, staff and student interactions, and our culture. In order for us as a school to continue to succeed, both as individuals and as a collective, it is important therefore that each student strives to live our values.

You will find definitions of the key characteristics for each value outlined on your child’s report, alongside descriptions of the behaviour and attitude indicators. Please refer to these carefully when reviewing your child’s report.

If you have any further questions about the report published to the My Child at School App, please do contact your child’s tutor. We wish you a restful half-term break.

Best wishes,

Mr J Ritchie
