We are delighted to inform you that our Year 9 students will be taking part in a special LAB Values Day next week. Year 9 students from each college will participate on a separate day to ensure they remain within their agreed bubble.
We recognise it has been an extremely challenging year for our students with numerous restrictions in place and limited opportunities for them to work collaboratively with their peers in real life. Through the bespoke workshop based on the LAB values of: Ambition, Integrity, Resilience, Scholarship and Respect, we hope to provide our students with the opportunity to develop practical strategies to support their wellbeing, raise aspirations and promote high levels of motivation and positive mental health. The workshop will be led by a specialist team from the organisation Fitter Stronger and supported by LAB staff.
Our workshop leaders include:
Paula Kerr, Fitter Stronger -Paula is a successful national print and broadcast journalist and the Founder of Fitter Stronger. Paula is a keynote and motivational speaker with a track record of enthusing and inspiring audiences with her story of cancer survival. Paula’s work involves educating others on fitness and nutrition, as well as showing young people how to develop motivational techniques to improve their wellbeing and confront emotional and physical challenges.
