Following our recent open events we have been asked for some further details about the subjects our students will study at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and how the curriculum will be arranged at Key Stage 4 (KS4). Please find an outline of both our KS3 and KS4 curriculum model below.
Wider learning opportunities will be delivered throughout the academic year either as part of project based learning activities or through individual focus days.
Leigh Academy Blackheath is a place where tradition meets innovation. Our broad and balanced technologically rich curriculum, arranged through bespoke pathways, provides stretch and challenge for all of our students.
Digital technology is the future. No matter what career our students pursue they will need to perform, succeed and lead with digital confidence and expertise. Our curriculum and how it is delivered ensures our students develop into powerful digital citizens on both a national and a global scale.
- Ensures every child in our care; regardless of need, starting point or background, reaches their full potential.
- Provides challenge for all students, and is closely linked to the working world through partnership and collaboration with industry.
- Prepare our students to be powerful digital citizens of the future on both a national and a global scale, placing equal importance on ‘learning to use technology’ as ‘using technology to learn’.
We are relentless in our bid to maximise the potential of every child; teaching them the skills they need to be successful, and nurturing a desire to be lifelong learners.
