Homework and Learning Resources

Homework is a crucial aspect of learning since it allows students to independently practice what they have learnt in lessons and gives them the opportunity to become more fluent in new skills, new concepts and new facts.

To support your child to complete their independent work at home each teaching class is provided with a homework timetable. This ensures that students are set a range of subjects over their two week timetable, without them receiving too much homework on one particular day. This will also help you to support your child in carving out the right amount of time to complete their homework, and avoid them leaving it to the last minute.

Homework should last approximately 30 minutes per subject, but may take your child slightly longer if they are still familiarising themselves with new content or skills. LAB students should also read for 30 minutes every day at home in addition to the 30 minutes a day they complete during lesson time.
